Tallahassee-based MagCorp and Philips have signed an agreement to connect scientists from the Florida State University-headquartered National High Magnetic Field Laboratory with industry professionals to make MR imaging more affordable, accessible, and sustainable.

Through research and development, Florida State University President Richard McCullough said the school is poised to seize its place among top rankings in the country and put more students on track to be entrepreneurs. As Saturday's keynote speaker at the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Conference, he shared his plans to elevate the school's impact. The university spends $350 million on research expenses that he hopes to increase to $500 million.
